about

Hishtadlus translates roughly as personal effort/drive. Bitachon is trust/faith. Hishtadlus and bitachon are balancers of one another. They support each other and need each other. If we are living into both, then when I am putting in effort and work, and I also get to lean into trust in that which is greater, and vice versa. Sometimes one is needed more than the other, but it’s always a dance and a combination, because they work together. This song is a celebration of hishtadlus, of the power of doing the work, putting in the effort. It is a testament to what doing the work can feel like when we are being backed by trust and faith.
